The new LFC / LFC+ (2026 version) is a versatile 1 or 2-band active EQ. Simply plugging in an optional potentiometer turns the 1-band LFC into 2-band (LFC+).
The 1-band LFC controls the low frequencies only. This works great when added to the Distiller, enhancing it with LF cut/boost ability.
The 2-band option (LFC+) controls both lows and highs (cut/boost). This configuration is mainly intended to be used on its own, if you're looking for a classic 2-band shelving EQ. You can also use it with a Distiller if you want the ability to dial an even brighter tone than what it can do by itself. You just need to be aware of some frequency overlap between the two and avoid setting them to fight each other (one cuts the highs while the other tries to boost them).
Claim to fame: LFC/LFC+ is almost certainly the quietest active onboard EQ on the market (see specs below). Do you hate hiss? You'll love LFC.
On this note:
We are offering a reward of US $500 worth of JTEX products to the first person who can find any commercially-available onboard active EQ with lower self-noise than LFC+
*measured side by side in the same conditions. For reference, we used an Audio Precision SYS-2522 set to 22kHz measurement BW. Reward valid until the end of 2026, to give the competition a chance to catch up - if they can.
