JTEX Indicator solves two common problems with active basses and guitars:
It serves as a power-on and power-good indicator by blinking green for as long as the instrument's electronics are powered and the battery is healthy. The blinking will catch your eye, reminding you to unplug the cord to save the battery after you're done playing.
It notifies you that the battery is running low by turning a solid red when the voltage drops down to 7V (or 14V for 18V systems). This is before your tone starts suffering and long before you risk a sudden power loss on stage. Just remember to replace the battery soon.
The Indicator's own current draw is negligible (30 microamps while blinking), so it won't impact battery life while monitoring it. Indicator supports both 9V and 18V systems by using the appropriate power pin (+9V or +18V).
Current draw (good battery): 30μA (microamps)
Low battery threshold (9V systems): 7V
Low battery threshold (18V systems): 14V
LED type: ⌀3mm, bicolor (red/green), diffuse lens
Circuit board dimensions: 15x18mm
Installation
Connect the GND pin to the instrument ground (the sleeve pin of the output jack, or the metal back of a potentiometer, if it's grounded).
Connect the +9V or the +18V pin to the battery positive (usually a red wire). Use the pin that matches your instrument's nominal voltage. Do not connect the +9V pin to 18V power or damage may occur.
